«auf und ab» sound installation by the LAUTES collective at Museum Baden (CH)
«auf und ab» is a sound installation by the LAUTES collective, Laura Haensler (design) and Stephanie Haensler (composition), who have been realizing interdisciplinary projects since 2019: design questions composition, contemporary music meets object art, the audible is reflected in the visible.
The work will be interpreted by the Eunoia Quintet: Johanna Greulich: soprano, Ellen Fallowfield: cello, Clemens Hund-Göschel: piano, Stephen Menotti: trombone, Louisa Marxen: drums
Groundbreaking technical achievement, floating transfer capsule between above and below and not infrequently witness to countless events in a very small space: From a sociological and cultural-historical point of view, the elevator is more than just a vertical means of transport.
In the interdisciplinary art installation «up and down», the elevator itself becomes the protagonist: it is located in a spa hotel in Baden from yesteryear and, as the events progress, grows beyond its traditional role as a soulless machine to even become the mastermind itself…
Laura Haensler and Stephanie Haensler, on view at the Baden Historical Museum from November 6th to 23rd, 2022.
The exhibition is accessible during the museum opening hours: Tue – Sat 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., Thu 12 p.m. – 7 p.m., Sun 10 a.m. – 5 p.m
